Hybrid Work Model

Job Description
Position Summary
The Regulatory and Sustainability Expert, Life Cycle Assessment is a subject matter expert (SME) who is responsible for driving Assent’s objective of being a market leading software and services solution for a wide variety of customers and industries. This role requires a highly knowledgeable regulatory and product sustainability subject matter expert and visionary for the development of best practices, whilst partnering with our Product Development team to influence both new and existing solutions. This role will work closely with internal teams as well as external stakeholders to provide expertise and guidance that support Assent’s value proposition and business goals.
Key Requirements & Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise in product LCA, Environmental Product Declarations, environmentally conscious design, sustainable product initiatives, EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, product carbon footprint calculations, etc. to both internal and external stakeholders;
Be a leading voice in the ongoing evolution of Assent’s solution as it continues growing to address emerging product sustainability regulations;
Provide support for customer engagements related to product sustainability;
Demonstrate thought leadership by collaborating with marketing teams to produce materials such as blog posts, white papers, webinars and sales enablement;
Support training programs and educational initiatives related to product sustainability;
Keep abreast of regulatory and industry-led developments and trends through ongoing research, and organize regulatory and industry best practices with the Product Management team.
Qualifications
Your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
12+ years practical experience related to product sustainability, product certification, environmentally conscious design, environmental product compliance, LCA or similar;
Knowledgeable in product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) reports and methodology as well as Product Category Rules (PCR).
Knowledge and previous use of standards and frameworks that relate to the carbon footprinting of products and EPDs such as ISO 14025, ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, ISO 21930, EN 15804 and EN 50693;
Experience with LCA tools and software (LCA for Experts [formerly GaBi], OpenLCA, SimaPro, etc.) and libraries;
Accreditation as a Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCACP) or similar is a plus.
