Title: Associate Product Developer - Consumer Chemicals

We seek an Associate Product Developer to join our team at Trove Companies, LLC working on developing new consumer chemical products. Product categories include automotive, home & garden, marine, and more. This role will have a lot of growth and opportunity to learn.

Role & Responsibilities.

• In partnership with the lead Product Developer, you will be responsible for sourcing, vetting, validating, and bringing to market new consumer chemicals products.
• You will partner with an experienced chemist to mix new formulations and operate standard lab equipment, such as mixers, scales, and analytical equipment.
• With the support of the lead Product Developer, you will be responsible for creating technical testing plans, evaluating product performance, and reporting results to cross-functional teams.
• You will address product performance issues through reformulation, testing plan iteration, and quantifying product improvements.
• You will create consumer-facing usage instructions and highlight product features for consumers to help them use new products in the most effective way.
• You will partner with Safety & Compliance consultants to generate SDSs, product label warnings, and reformulations to meet consumer safety targets.
• In collaboration with Marketing, you will be responsible for the product positioning in the marketplace and help identify key product claims based on competitor products and customer reviews.
• You will manage project timelines and communicate project issues and statuses to cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years in formulation, product testing, or chemical manufacturing. B.S. degree a plus.
• Ability to review Safety Data Sheets, product labels, and compliance documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Experience using lab equipment or following chemical formulation processes
• Self-motivated worker that is a team player and is willing to work hard to get the job done.
• Advanced project management skills with ability to manage and organize many different tasks and projects at once.
• Excited to be the voice for the consumer in identifying product features, usage instructions, or products that delight and meet consumer needs.
• Excited to join a high-performing team with ownership over product decisions.
• Effective communicator able to deliver detailed information in a clear way.

On-site at the facility in Rocky Mount, VA.
