The Role

As our Senior Software Architect, you’ll be the technical backbone of our engineering organization. You’ll own the big-picture design of our platform—defining the systems, patterns, and standards that allow us to ship fast without sacrificing quality or scalability. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll write code, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions that directly impact our trajectory from $15M to $50M+ in ARR.

What You’ll Do

• Define and evolve the overall system architecture for Relish’s product suite, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security as we grow

• Design cloud-native, microservices-based architectures that support rapid feature delivery and enterprise-grade SLAs

• Partner with product and engineering leadership to translate business strategy into technical roadmaps

• Establish and champion engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices across the team

• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities into core platform services, including agentic workflows and intelligent automation

• Lead technical design reviews and provide hands-on mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers

• Own critical build-vs-buy decisions and technology selection for new platform capabilities

• Drive performance optimization, observability, and incident response architecture

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years in an architect or principal engineer role

• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and modern API design

• Strong background in enterprise SaaS, ideally in ERP, finance, or supply chain domains

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration, including LLMs, agentic frameworks, or intelligent automation

• Proven ability to design systems that scale from startup to enterprise—you’ve been through rapid growth before

• Excellent communication skills; you can explain complex architecture to engineers and executives alike

• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise platforms is a strong plus

• Base salary: $180,000 – $230,000 (commensurate with experience)
