Summary -

The Senior Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying AWS Infrastructure based on the customer requirement to deliver the analytical solutions. This role will work closely with the Managers, Clients and Managed Services teams.

Responsibilities of the Role:

• Develop cloud data services provisioning automation with integrated capabilities of IAM, network, security policies as code, and observability.
• Implement built-in resiliency observability and enable FinOps as a part of infrastructure automation to enable cloud IaaS and PaaS services
• Develop IaC and CI/CD pipelines to build the cloud data platform and data pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues and remediate them accordingly.
• Deployment of AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, DMS, Redis, EMR, EKS
• Deployment of multi-tier, auto-scaling, high availability infrastructure architectures in Enterprise & cloud environments adhering to Business Continuity and availability best practice
• Estimating AWS usage costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms
• Delivery responsibilities in the areas of cloud network administration, security administration, instantiation, provisioning, optimizing the environment, and third-party software support.
• Implementing security best practices and analyzing the partner compatibility
• Continuously monitor servers, networks, and other infrastructure components for performance issues and potential incidents.
• Respond promptly to incidents, prioritize based on severity, and initiate the incident resolution process.
• Conduct thorough troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues affecting infrastructure components, applications, or services.
• Conduct routine health checks on servers, networks, and infrastructure components to identify potential problems before they escalate.
• Provide support to end-users for infrastructure-related issues, including access problems, connectivity issues, and basic troubleshooting.
• Participate in on-call and rotation shifts to provide 24x7 coverage
• Respond promptly to alert incidents, and resolve closure
• Thorough knowledge of Hadoop and its ecosystems overall architecture.
• Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in Hadoop ecosystem components, including HDFS, Yarn, Hive, Spark, Kafka, HBase, Cloudera, EMR, SOLR, etc.
• Monitor resource utilization and participate in capacity planning discussions to ensure optimal infrastructure performance.
• Partner with developers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, engineer, optimize, support, and maintain cloud-native solutions.
• Lead initiatives to ensure the utmost reliability, scalability, and performance of our server, storage, and cloud platforms, employing thorough performance management strategies to identify and proactively address potential issues.
• Participate in and often lead comprehensive project assignments, ensuring meticulous attention to detail in maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives for optimal company operations.
• Maintain scrupulous documentation for system changes, automation processes, and platform configurations, strictly adhering to the company's change management policies.
• Excel in collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholder groups, breaking down complex technical topics into clear, understandable insights and advocating for infrastructure needs and priorities.

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in Aws services, cloud-native security, monitoring and logging tools, and Well-Architected Data Framework principals
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem components - HDFS, YARN, HBase, Kafka, Solr
• Experience with various CI/CD methodologies, container orchestration tools, and observability and performance monitoring technologies.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of Container Orchestration, with a preference for expertise in Kubernetes as mandatory.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform as mandatory.
• Expertise in end-to-end applications hosted on Kubernetes, emphasizing scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and cloud security.
• Experience in Cloud logging, monitoring, and observability tools
• Cloud provisioning and configuration technologies (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Packer, AWS cloud formation)
• Strong Experience in designing & implementing security (with VPC, IAM, Security Groups, UTM solutions, NACLS, etc.)
• Strong understanding of AWS billing and ability to provide cost-optimal architectural designs
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate and explain the design/deployment strategy to both technical & non-technical audiences
• Good working knowledge of processes and procedures (like ITIL)
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work in a global team.
• Minimum of a 4-year degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• CKA - Certified Kubernetes Administrator
